omnium gatherum and unity

D&D was, of course, an omnium gatherum of sheer randomness. It makes it hard to write a story that catches that verve and still has dramatic unity in its setting.

As I was thinking when inspecting three different kinds of magic: alchemy, amulets, and a place of unearthly and unpleasant magic.

They are probably going to be connected by a rivalry, I have come to the conclusion. Different people trying different things to the same end. Still going to be interesting to build the world with all three.
