Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi

Three of Aru's schoolmates discover she lives at the museum and come to scorn her and the statues of Indian gods there, and bait her into lighting the lamp she knows is cursed.

They are frozen in time. A pigeon arrives (somewhat surprised at its form) and explains she is one of the Pandavas, brothers from ancient epic. Though he's surprised that she's a girl this time. And she has to find another, be acknowledged by her god parent, unleash her weapon and save the world.

It involves meeting another girl, being unhappy about being claimed, a magnificent house, talking about the dangers of tattoos, a twelve-headed horse, a strange frozen foods section, a market that does not have a roof, a whale shark, the six Seasons, and more.
