economics of werewolves

So how did the werewolves support themselves?

The heroine does leave them young enough that it might not have impinged on her awareness, provided it happened far enough away.

Still, we have a hall where a large number of werewolves live in relative prosperity, and buy their food and other goods from the town of mundane people nearby,.  While they commit a fair amount of crime, they tend toward violence and property damage, not so much theft.

Perhaps they are living off the hoard of some magical monsters that they killed long ago.  Perhaps I have to think about the cunning ones they admit to having, from time to time.

And I ponder the question of how the notorious drunkards, satyrs, support themselves.  Since they obviously can't buy their food.
