Columbines are sprouting with their little reddish-green cabbage leaves. Tulips are in great shouts. Dwarf irises and crocuses are showing quite definitely that they are respectively a bluish violet and a reddish violet.
Down in the valley, the trees are a hazy red. Up where I stand, the bare boughs and branches are still stark, but with distance, the cloud of just fledgling leaves brushes the valley with redness. ( Collapse )
