the muse's idea of fun

It's amazing what will inspire a tale.  Or even restore inspiration for an old one.

Read Red Plenty with its imaginary projections being put into place with total sincerity.  Start working again on a SF piece -- which is set in a rather despairing world where industry is merely trying to survive and everyone knows it.

Read a blog post titled "The Broken Hero" and the muse fools about with the idea of a hero retreating to a refuge.  Or perhaps that novel I was working on earlier, where the character a little bit like that title was a bit part to instigate our hero and heroine's involvement with the peril that threatens the land.

Muses really do get ideas the oddest places.
