flight and the law

Was thinking about the discussion that said that at law, the FAA only has authority over people who flied with "contrivances."

Then I remembered one of the last witchcraft case brought in England.  The accusers claimed that the woman had flown.  The judge dismissed the case on the grounds that it was not against the law to fly.

So you have a case if caught flying without a device. (Better not use a broomstick, though.)
