On Mr. Thomas Gray

superversive has posted an exercept from "On Mr. Thomas Gray" by G. K. Chesterton.

A lovely essay.  Though to really appreciate it, you have to 1) write, and 2) read literary criticism by critics who have never perpetrated fiction in their lives, but have no shame about talking about the writing process in a manner that reveals why they have never perpetrated any.
