for the birds

Doing a crowd scene.  Of birds.  And hunting for folkloric bird-brides.

Swans, of course.  Doves.  Golden peahens -- and ordinary colored ones, too.  However analogous they are, selkies don't fit.  (Perhaps they feature in the world, but not in this crowd.)  Falcons, ravens, and eagles for guys (a la Marya Morevna), but fewer of them.

Did a little research and picked up geese and cranes as well, before reminding myself that I could research more later for some oddballs.  (though I may need at least one tropical bird -- not a parrot, because parrots can talk, which is inappropriate for thematic reasons.)
