If you've read her other books, I must note that they are not mermaid fairy tales, though some do appear -- usually with the mermaid appearing in the "ogre" role -- but many bits of folklore and fancy and tales that are legends more than fairy tales. Some aren't tales at all but accounts of mermaid beliefs.
