the game of names

In this world, I think that wizards are called in an old-fashioned style:  Master Firstname, Mistress Firstname.

My young hero must think at some point on the differences between the places where they call him by his first name and where they, to be flattering, call him Mr. Lastname.

I'm still trying to decide whether they call children Master Firstname and Miss Firstname, just to keep things lively.

(Meanwhile a major character is waffling about whether he's Jamie or Justin.  The life of a writer.)
