a hero with hair of gold

Once upon a time, a hero had his hair magically turned to gold.

Well, the shade of gold.  I don't think I wanted to deal with the realistic weight.  

But I got all the way through the outline without realizing quite how much it would affect all who looked at him.

At least, when I was writing through the scene with the giants, they both gape at him in astonishment.

I think it's going to have to be played up more.  There were already scenes where he covers it up, but in the outline that was just disguise.
