fracturing fairy tales and Pop Top

sigh

There's something depressing about reading the reviews for The Irish Cinderlad and discovering that in spite of her explicitly telling them what folktales she had taken it from, many took it as her twisting Cinderella.

It simultaneously encourages me to put an explanatory appendix at the end of a massive fairy tale mash-up and makes me despair of its effect.

I poked at outlining a story that is, at its basis, a mashup of the Girl Without Hands with some twists on Snow White. It's disappointing to think that more people will pick up on the Snow White when there's less of it.
